Rapid Group are acquired by TRAMS

Following the recent merger / acquisition of GHC by Square Group, it would appear that the polarisation of the Apple channel is continuing with the confirmation that Hampshire-based Rapid Group, with branches in London and Dorset, have been taken over by TRAMS, the major London-based multi-platform VAR.

Rapid Group began life as part of Softline, but the two demerged in 2002 and Mac-channel veteran Garrett Doyle took the reins to turn Rapid into a major player in the Mac-services market.

TRAMS are one of Apple's longest-established and most successful corporate Apple VAR resellers, although their claim to be Apple's largest reseller was taken from them some years ago, but this takeover does appear to be a natural combination of complimentary operations.
